Exam readiness

The final week before TCF Canada

The final week is for controlled rehearsal, targeted correction and rest. It is not the time to rebuild your entire French system.

Reduce the number of priorities

Choose one correction goal for each skill. Examples include checking task obligations before writing, listening for final decisions, returning to textual evidence and developing speaking examples.

  • Days 7–5: focused sections and correction
  • Days 4–3: one complete simulation
  • Day 2: light review and practical preparation
  • Day 1: rest, centre instructions and compact notes

Review errors by cause

Do not reread every old explanation. Group errors into language gaps, misunderstood tasks, attractive distractors, lost attention and time pressure. Rehearse the correction strategy for the most frequent cause.

Protect predictable performance

Use familiar materials, familiar routines and realistic timing. A calm, repeatable method is more valuable now than a new collection of difficult exercises.

A seven-day TCF Canada countdown

Seven to five days before the exam, finish the last demanding skill sessions and correct them completely. Four or three days before, complete the final realistic simulation. Use the remaining time for familiar review, sleep, transportation and the test centre’s instructions.

If a late mock result is disappointing, identify whether the cause is stable knowledge or temporary performance. One bad section does not justify changing every strategy. Repair one repeated error and return to a familiar routine.

What not to study in the final 24 hours

Avoid large new vocabulary lists, unfamiliar response templates and multiple full exams. Review compact examples of your own frequent errors, useful connectors and task obligations. The final objective is accessible language and predictable attention, not maximum content exposure.

Use the practical checklist

Review documents, timing, routines and section-specific reminders.
